Most businesses in the GCC, and increasingly across the globe, have highly diverse workforces. Managers across the operations and support functions are under pressure to improve performance in the competitive global business environment. This means organisations are under pressure to build and sustain high-performance teams across the business.
This course is about how you, as a manager, can leverage diverse cognitive, creative, and problem-solving abilities (that are shaped by diverse perspectives, heuristics, and interpretations) to create and sustain your team's high performance, and ultimately, your company's growth and success.
You’ll learn how teams and organisations can overcome the barriers to true inclusion, including stereotyping and in/out group mechanisms. We’ll proceed with the specific elements of team dynamics required to leverage diversity for high performance, such as psychological safety and collaborative goal setting. We'll conclude with embedding these diversity-oriented team dynamics within a general framework for developing and sustaining high-performance teams.

Gary has over 12 years of consulting and training experience with a wide range of expertise, based on a broad set of career experiences.
In his career, Gary performed engineering R&D, project-managing a suite of projects along with commercial responsibilities. This was Gary’s first exposure to diversity in a management context: besides the multi-disciplinary nature of the R&D projects, Gary also managed a team with a wide range of levels and qualifications (PhDs to no formal qualifications), across the range of South Africa’s multi-ethno-racial society.
After an MBA in Leadership with distinction, Gary was appointed as GM of Sales and Distribution for Coca-Cola in South Africa. Gary again had direct experience of diversity issues. For example, employment of previously disadvantaged groups in South Africa, and recruitment, development, and retention of young talent from previously disadvantaged groups.
Before coming to Dubai, Gary founded his own training business in Germany, which provided training in a wide range of management and soft skills.
Based in Dubai since 2015, Gary feels he succeeds as a trainer when the material comes alive for the delegates and they feel inspired to make changes in their working lives.
