The objective of this course is to introduce new or junior employees to the principles and practices involved in facilities management and maintenance in the Middle East. It will also assist senior managers with overseas and local experience, as it will enable them to update their FM best practice methodologies, to understand current market trends, and to acknowledge the impact of UAE laws on the management and maintenance of joint owned property laws.

Attendees will gain valuable insight into the key areas of FM, including: strategy; governance; risk; finance; asset and maintenance management; service delivery (hard, soft, and corporate services); and contract management. In addition, delegates will learn the procedures to prepare a service charge budget. They will also familiarise themselves with government requirements and understand when joint owned property laws apply.     Leith hails from Brisbane, Australia. A lawyer by profession with over 25 years' experience in the legal sector, Leith has turned her focus to teaching the next generation. Practising in Australia for over 15 years before moving to Dubai 10 years ago, Leith now imparts her knowledge and experience to her students.

    Leith provides specialised training in all areas of real estate – from brokerage to development to operations – and provides practical and common sense solutions to problems.

    After working in-house for major multinational corporations for over 20 years, Leith opened her own real estate consultancy in 2014 and has been providing consultancies to all stakeholders in the real estate industry ever since. Leith has experience in negotiating land acquisitions, purchase agreements, development contracts, joint ventures, hotel management agreements, all forms of service agreements, company policies and procedures, retail leasing, specialty leasing, commercial leasing, and corporate governance to name a few.

    She is also one of the founding trainers for the Real Estate Profession and Real Estate Brokerage courses run through the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI) for the Abu Dhabi Government and is also providing training courses for the Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI).
