    Dr Sajith Pillai
    Healthcare Quality Professional
    Qatar

    Sajith Pillai has over a decade's experience of planning and implementing quality improvement initiatives and, of both, leading and coaching improvement teams.

    After gaining his MBBS from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, and his MHA from the University of Pittsburgh in the USA, Sajith was a management resident with Gateway Health Plan, a managed care organisation in Pennsylvania, and a quality improvement specialist with the University of Pittsburgh where he worked on projects that contributed to reducing maternal depression, low birth weight and prematurity in low-income pregnant women.

    Since 2011, Sajith has been a healthcare quality professional with Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar, where he plans and implements quality improvement initiatives, leads and coaches improvement teams, and conducts lectures and training workshops for frontline healthcare staff.

    Sajith is a recipient of an Institute of Healthcare Improvement Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Fellowship and a credentialed clinical microsystems coach with the Dartmouth Microsystems Academy.


    Benedict Stanberry
    Principal
    IHLM, Oxford, UK

    Benedict Stanberry is a British consultant and academic who researches, writes, teaches, coaches and consults around the world on the subjects of healthcare strategy, management and leadership.

    Ben began his career as a medical lawyer and became a healthcare management consultant in 2001. Shortly afterwards he was diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer, from which he was given only a 30 percent chance of survival. Upon his recovery he served as the interim chief executive of a Brussels-based healthcare NGO and as an elected politician in south-west London, where his responsibilities included overview and scrutiny of healthcare services. From 2006 to 2009, as a director of a private healthcare company, Ben helped establish a new model of cancer care for the south of England.

    Ben is presently the Principal of IHLM in Oxford and – together with his faculty colleagues – works with healthcare managers and leaders in both the public and private sectors in the UK, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia.
