Overview

The modern organisational manager or specialist is expected to work with the masses of data available from organisation wide IT systems and to be able to provide precise analysis and recommendations for senior managers/executives or to make decisions supported by facts.

To do this effectively, means recognising patterns and analysing these using the best tools for the job, often in the form of computer spreadsheets and associated add-ins. This will involve recognising trends and what these mean for the organisation, as well as being able to predict the sensitivity of decisions to changes in attributes, for example the cost of fuel to a transportation form.

    Joe Spiteri



    Joe Spiteri completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Malta and is a qualified IT professional. Joe's experience spans various areas in marketing ranging from business start-ups to international marketing, having worked with various IT and retail-oriented firms in a local and international context.

    Joe has been lecturing at STC since 2008 and is also a lecturer at the University of Malta, Institute of Tourism Studies and at Middlesex University where he teaches international marketing and business administration respectively. Prior to this role, Joe established a successful IT business for a local conglomerate. In this role, Joe set up and maintained important business-to-business marketing operations targeting a range of large scale local and international organisations like HSBC, Bank of Valletta (BOV), APS, Malta Enterprise, University of Malta, Malta International Freeport, GO, Westin Dragonara and Mater Dei Hospital, MIA along with various governmental ministries as well as project organisations like Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2005.

    Throughout his career, Joe has led various international projects involving the attraction of international suppliers to work in Malta, international business-to-business campaigns as well as participating in multi-national consortia working on pan-European projects.
