The Managing IT Projects course focuses on the practical approach to managing projects within your business.     Simon's commercial background is in operations, project and programme management and innovation management. Simon spent five years in The British Army in various operational roles around the world. On leaving the Army he spent three years in the UK National Health Service involved in project management in the merger of hospital trusts and the introduction of Trust Status. On leaving the public sector he was Customer Services Manager for Psion UK Plc., at the time the world's biggest palmtop computer manufacturer. He was headhunted to join a US based consulting firm specialising in problem solving and project management for IT and Telecoms firms.

    Whilst completing his MBA at Henley Business School Simon set up his own company with ex business partners and has been running SofTools/PLI at Henley Business School for over seven years. The company provides software, training and consulting services in the area of business process improvement to companies globally. Clients include; HJ Heinz, Coca-Cola, Miele, SKY, R&R Ice Cream, GSK amongst others.

    Simon is Associate Faculty at Henley Business School and has been involved with the Executive Education Department in the development of programmes designed specifically for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs. He has designed, developed and delivered programmes for Henley such as the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) management programme and the innovation management modules on other programmes. He is an experienced facilitator and trainer.

    Simon is a qualified PRINCE 2 project management practitioner and is a published author. His last book Fast Track to Success – Project Management was shortlisted as 2010 Management Book of the Year by the Chartered Institute of Management (CIM). He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM).
