British management and training consultant
John Blacklaws is a British management and training consultant. He is resident in Qatar. John worked in senior operations and
project management roles since the mid 80’s, before establishing his own management consultancy in 1998. Today, John has a
strong client base in the Middle East, UK, South Korea, Singapore and Africa. John is thoroughly familiar with the challenges and
nuances of business practice in the GCC in particular. Feedback from John’s clients is especially positive about his ability to blend
his own practical business experience with the guidance he provides to his clients. John is enthusiastic about “realising capability”
within individuals and organisations.
John gained his experience in senior management roles in the multinational corporations Liberty Life, British Petroleum, Anglo American
Corporation and BHP Billiton. He has 15,000 hours of project management experience, during which he has built up first-hand insight into
the operations of a variety of industries, including mining, financial services, telecoms, utilities, transportation, information technology,
manufacturing, construction, real estate and agriculture. In respect of these and other consulting engagements, John has gained competence
and knowledge of their processes, systems, controls, methodologies, management requirements, performance standards and high-level
John has had the pleasure of interacting with hundreds of senior executives for purposes of coaching, personal assessments and career
development planning. He lectures on project management to MBA level and is also a frequent speaker and conference panelist.
